The curator’s text for the exhibition, written by Odeta Žukauskienė, invites the participating artists to reflect on the importance of noticing the diverse forms of life around us and on how relationships between the human-centered world and the natural and social environment are intertwined. Increasingly, sustainable ways of living are becoming essential in order to preserve vital resources and to find a balance between development and preservation.
The curators invited artists from different generations whose work engages with themes related to the environment and more-than-human relationships. The idea for the exhibition originated from contacts between Estonian and Lithuanian textile artists and was first presented in Tartu at the Pallas Gallery. The exhibition now on view in Ogre also includes Latvian artists among the participants.
