Sigrid Huik
NOMINEE
Sigrid Huik is a talented and dedicated artist, equally skilled in rug weaving, silk painting, and textile printing. Her active creative work over the past year was reflected in three solo exhibitions: “Time Framed” at the Design and Architecture Gallery, “On This Side and Beyond the Sea” at Hopner House, and “A Winter’s Dream” in the window of the Kunstiaken Gallery. In addition, she participated in three group exhibitions: “A Moment for Yourself” at the Kõrgessaare Library in Hiiumaa, “The Night Tells Stories” at the Jõhvi City Gallery, and “Walking the Line” at the Estonian National Museum’s Heimtali branch.
In addition, the artist took part in the Estonian Textile Artists’ Association’s annual exhibition “The Colour of the Year is Diverse” at the Museum of New Art in Pärnu.
Marilyn Piirsalu
NOMINEE
Marilyn Piirsalu is a versatile artist known for her work in printmaking, video art, and textile art. Her rugs, marked by a compelling approach, stand out with their freehand figure drawing and powerful, expressive imagery. Last year, she exhibited her work in VIENAS IŠ MŪSŲ / ÜKS MEIST / ONE OF US 2024 at the Pallas Gallery in Tartu, as well as in “In Five Ways” in Viljandi, the Estonian Textile Artists' Association’s anniversary exhibition “(Prize)Worthy”, and the annual exhibition “The Colour of the Year is Diverse.”
One of her works was also selected by an international jury for Artapestry, a prestigious platform for artists working in tapestry technique.
Ilme Rätsep

In Ilme Rätsep’s work, the mastery of an exceptional silk painter meets the ingenuity of a contemporary artist who skillfully harnesses modern techniques. Last year, her impressively diverse body of work was showcased in two solo exhibitions: “Liberated Time” at the Alexela Concert Hall and “Time of Possibilities” at the Jõhvi City Gallery (together with Felix Sarv). Ilme Rätsep also participated in the Estonian Textile Artists’ Association’s annual exhibition “The Colour of the Year is Diverse.”

Kaire Tali

NOMINEE
Kaire Tali has been a consistent ambassador of Estonian textile art in Latvia. Since 2013, exhibitions have been held annually at the House of the Latvian Society in Riga as part of Estonian Month. Since 2018, Kaire has been the driving force behind these projects, bringing several outstanding Estonian textile artists to Riga. The exhibitions she has curated have become a significant part of the Estonian Month cultural programme, always receiving a warm welcome from both the local audience and the Estonian Embassy. Thanks to Kaire Tali’s dedication and artistic vision, Estonian textile art is both valued and visible in Riga.
